Getting Started

Getting started is easy; simple preparations might include having comfortable shoes and socks, planning a safe direction or route and grabbing some water. If you’re not ready to take a longer walk, you might walk to the mailbox or road and back and the next day, go some steps past that and back and continue increasing as you feel comfortable. The key is to do more than you’ve been doing and build from there. Once you start, you’ll want to do it more.

Being out in fresh air, sunshine and nature is important to everyone, including those who roll instead of walk. And, for when you can’t get outside to walk, try searching for walking videos on YouTube. There are so many choices and WalkWicomico invites everyone to join the journey!
